Bountiful Harvest gains you life equal to the number of lands you control — a number that sounds exciting until you realize five mana for 5–8 life does nothing to change a board state. It's a bulk common for a reason: lifegain without card advantage or tempo attached is not a Magic card worth a slot.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Bountiful Harvest is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but legality and playability are different things. In Commander, the format where lifegain has the most room to matter, five mana for a one-shot life buffer without any attached effect is too slow and too narrow — you'd need a dedicated lifegain payoff and even then there are strictly better options. In Pauper, where the card pool is restricted and every mana matters, spending five on a sorcery that replaces itself with nothing is a non-starter. Across every format where Bountiful Harvest is legal, it occupies the same role: filler in preconstructed products, cut on day one by anyone building deliberately.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Bountiful Harvest is deep bulk — the kind of price that reflects demand, not scarcity. There is no reason to expect that to change, and no reason to hold copies.
