Bog Tatters is a 4/3 with swampwalk for six mana — a vanilla-adjacent body at a cost where black demands evasion plus impact. There are no enters-the-battlefield effects, no death triggers, no upside; this card is just a creature that can't be blocked if an opponent happens to control a Swamp.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |

Bog Tatters is unplayed across every format it's legal in, and for good reason. In Commander, six mana buys you threats that close games — Bog Tatters trades blows and sits there. Swampwalk is only relevant against black-heavy opponents, which is meta-dependent to the point of unreliability. Pauper is the one format where bulk commons occasionally carve out niches, but the swampwalk clause doesn't solve the core problem: six mana for a 4/3 with no ETB is just too slow even at common.

Price Context
Current price
$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Bog Tatters is deep bulk — the kind of card that fills out a dollar box and goes no further. That price reflects the ceiling accurately; there is no realistic demand driver that would move it.
