Body Launderer converts every creature death into a connive trigger and a potential free reanimate, which means a single board wipe can refill your hand and rebuild your board simultaneously. The cost is real — you need a steady stream of dying creatures to make the engine hum, and without that, it's a 3/2 for three that does nothing. Run it alongside recursive threats like Karmic Guide and commanders like Bane, Lord of Darkness that generate death triggers on command, and the ceiling is absurd.

Bane, Lord of Darkness
Bane, Lord of Darkness forces opponents to sacrifice creatures on your end step, and every one of those deaths can feed Body Launderer's connive trigger — meaning Bane's attrition engine doubles as card selection and a graveyard pipeline in the same shell.

Body Launderer is a Commander card through and through — the format's 40-life, multiplayer structure means creature deaths accumulate fast, and a card that converts each one into looting and recursion scales exponentially with the table count. In 1v1 formats like Legacy or Modern, the three-mana 3/2 body is underpowered for the speed of those environments, and the death-trigger payoff arrives too slowly against proactive combo and tempo decks. Pioneer is the most plausible competitive home outside Commander, but even there Body Launderer competes with a crowded three-drop slot and demands too much setup to see serious play. Treat it as a Commander-first card that happens to be technically legal elsewhere.

$0.64 bulk tier
At $0.64, Body Launderer sits firmly in bulk territory despite being a genuine engine piece in the right shell. Bulk rares with real Commander applications tend to spike when a popular commander brings them into focus, but at this price the floor is essentially zero — it's an easy pickup for any black creature deck before demand catches up.
