Blisterstick Shaman enters the battlefield and deals 2 damage to any target — a 2/1 body stapled to a removal spell — for three mana. That rate is too slow for most competitive contexts, but in Pauper and casual Commander shells that want repeated enters-the-battlefield triggers, it pulls its weight.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Blisterstick Shaman sees its most legitimate play in Pauper, where common-only card pools make every repeatable pinger worth evaluating and ETB-blink shells can squeeze real value out of the triggered damage. In Commander, it fits narrowly into Panharmonicon-style decks or Goblin/Shaman tribal lists that are already farming ETB effects — outside that context, three mana for 2 damage is simply too inefficient when the format offers better options at every rarity. Legacy, Vintage, and Modern are non-starters; the card doesn't approach the power threshold those formats demand.

Price Context
Current price
$0.03 bulk tier
At $0.03, Blisterstick Shaman is deep bulk — as cheap as Magic cards get. That price is stable by default: there's no competitive demand to drive it up, and no reason it should ever cost more than a few cents.
