Bishop's Soldier is a 2/2 lifelinker for two mana — it trades evenly in combat and gains you a point of life when it does, which is the entirety of its résumé. Playable filler in Limited, outclassed by almost everything in constructed formats.

Bishop's Soldier does nothing in Commander that a more synergistic card couldn't do better — lifelink on a vanilla 2/2 doesn't scale to a 40-life, four-player game, and white has access to far more efficient lifegain payoffs and token generators. In Pauper, it's a legal common but competes with strictly better two-drops that bring evasion, enters-the-battlefield effects, or both. Across Pioneer, Modern, and Legacy, Bishop's Soldier never sees play — the power floor for two-mana creatures in those formats is simply too high. Standard is the only environment where it's ever been a reasonable curve-filler, and only in aggressive lifelink synergy decks looking for critical mass over raw power.

Current price
$0.18 bulk tier
At $0.18, Bishop's Soldier sits firmly in bulk territory, and that price reflects its ceiling accurately. Bulk commons rarely appreciate unless a new synergy card dramatically changes their context, and nothing on the horizon makes Bishop's Soldier the missing piece in any competitive strategy.
