Bewilder taps up to two target creatures and prevents them from untapping during their controller's next untap step — a two-turn soft lock on two blockers for three mana at instant speed. It's a narrow, low-impact effect that rarely justifies a deck slot outside of dedicated tap-synergy builds.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Bewilder is a fringe inclusion: tapping two creatures for a turn buys you one swing through a clogged board, but three mana at sorcery-equivalent timing rarely swings a four-player game. Pauper is the only format where Bewilder sees any real consideration, slotting into tempo and tap-synergy lists that chain similar effects to lock down blockers on a budget. In Legacy and Vintage the effect is simply too low-impact to compete for a slot. The card is legal across most formats but unplayed in all of them.

Price Context
Current price
$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Bewilder is deep bulk — the price of a card no one is actively seeking out. Don't expect movement; supply is wide and demand is essentially zero outside niche casual lists.
