Bestow Greatness drops a +2/+2 counter on a creature and tutors an Aura from your library directly onto it — that's two meaningful effects stapled to a single four-mana sorcery. The cost is real, but the combination of stat boost and on-board Aura deployment makes it a genuine engine piece in any deck that cares about suited-up creatures.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Bestow Greatness earns its slot in Voltron and Aura-synergy builds where fetching the exact Aura you need — Eldrazi Conscription, Ethereal Armor, whatever the kill condition is — for free is worth more than any single on-curve play. Outside Commander, the card sees essentially no competitive play: Modern, Pioneer, and Legacy all move too fast for a four-mana sorcery that doesn't close the game by itself, and Standard lacks the deep Aura toolbox that makes Bestow Greatness truly broken. Pauper is the one other format worth a footnote, though the card's ceiling there depends entirely on whether a legal Aura package can abuse the tutor effect before the opponent stabilizes.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Bestow Greatness is pure bulk — easy to pick up without a second thought. Foil copies or future Commander precon reprints could nudge demand slightly, but as a niche sorcery with a narrow home, don't expect the price to move meaningfully in either direction.
