Benthic Infiltrator is an evasive, cost-efficient mill and exile threat that dodges blockers and removal interaction through ingest, but the payoff is narrow enough that you need a dedicated processor shell to justify the slot. Outside that context, a 1/3 that mills one card at a time is simply too slow.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Benthic Infiltrator only belongs in decks built around the Eldrazi processor mechanic — it enables ingest triggers and feeds cards into exile for processors like Wasteland Strangler, but 40-card libraries mean the mill output is nearly irrelevant as a win condition. In Pauper it has seen fringe play in Eldrazi-themed shells, though the archetype has never been competitive enough to make Benthic Infiltrator a staple. Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, and Vintage all outclass it immediately — the effect is too slow and the body too small to compete at those tables.

Price Context
Current price
$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Benthic Infiltrator is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a commons box rather than buy. Bulk commons at this price point don't appreciate unless the mechanic breaks out, and ingest has shown no signs of doing that.
