Beastie Beatdown deals damage equal to a creature's power to any target — stapled onto a spell that also pumps that creature — making it a removal spell and a threat in one card. The cost is real: this is a sorcery, which means no combat tricks, and it only shines when you already have a large creature on board. Wolverine, Best There Is is the obvious home, where the poison counter synergy and naturally high power make this a near-unconditional kill shot.

Wolverine, Best There Is
Wolverine, Best There Is hits hard enough that Beastie Beatdown doubles as a removal spell and a stat boost in the same turn, letting Wolverine's poisonous ability close games while clearing whatever's blocking the path.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Beastie Beatdown is legal across every major constructed format, but competitive play has no real use for it — Gruul has better burn and better pump at every point on the curve. In Commander, the card earns its slot in high-power creature decks where the board presence to back it up is essentially guaranteed, turning it into a Fling-adjacent finisher that doesn't sacrifice the creature. Outside of Wolverine, Best There Is and similar stompy commanders, the sorcery speed and board dependency make it too conditional to reliably recommend.

$0.04 bulk tier
At $0.04, Beastie Beatdown sits firmly in bulk territory — you're picking it up as throw-in, not a purchase. Bulk rares and commons at this price floor don't appreciate, so run it because the effect fits, not as a hedge on anything.
