Bearer of Memory puts a 3/3 trample body on the board and replaces itself the moment it dies — that's a two-for-one stapled to a threat. The mana cost keeps it competitive for any green deck that wants efficient, self-replacing creatures.

In Commander, Bearer of Memory earns its slot in go-wide, aristocrats, and graveyard-value shells where a creature that draws a card on death compounds over a long game. Pauper is the format where it's most likely to see real competitive consideration — a 3/3 trample for three mana that replaces itself is above the commons baseline, and aggressive green decks there want exactly that density of threats. In Modern and Legacy, the bar for a three-mana creature is much higher, and Bearer of Memory won't displace anything established in those formats. Pioneer sits in the same position — legal, but too slow against the format's threats to earn a slot.

Price Context
Current price
$0.06 bulk tier
At $0.06, Bearer of Memory is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not card value. Bulk commons rarely appreciate, so pick up copies for their utility and don't expect the price to move.
