Battlewise Valor pumps a creature +2/+2 until end of turn and scrys 1 — two effects on one card for two mana at instant speed. It's a fine combat trick in Limited, but in Constructed it's outclassed by nearly every alternative.

Battlewise Valor is legal across Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but the formats where it sees any real play are narrow. Pauper is its natural home — scry 1 stapled to a combat trick is genuinely playable when your card quality ceiling is low. In Commander, it's too low-impact: a one-shot +2/+2 doesn't move the needle in a 100-card multiplayer format, and the scry doesn't compensate for the tempo loss of spending a card on it. Modern and Legacy have access to far stronger options at the same mana cost, so Battlewise Valor doesn't make the cut there.
