Battle Frenzy gives your whole attacking team +2/+0 and first strike until end of turn for three mana — a combat trick that can flip a board state but asks a lot for a single-turn effect. It's a fine role-player in go-wide aggro shells and essentially unplayable everywhere else.

In Commander, Battle Frenzy is a combat trick competing against permanent pump and haste enablers, which is a rough spot — three mana at sorcery speed for a one-turn effect rarely makes the cut outside of dedicated token-attack decks. Pauper is its best home: at common, the card pool for wide red aggro is constrained enough that a full-board first strike pump can be a legitimate finisher, especially in goblin or token shells. Legacy and Vintage are legal but irrelevant — the formats don't support the slow, creature-centric game plan where Battle Frenzy pays off.
