Battershield Warrior puts double strike on a creature the turn it attacks — no equipment, no setup, just a 3/3 for four mana that hands the keyword to any attacker you choose. The rate is too slow for competitive formats, but in casual Commander it's a serviceable piece in go-wide or voltron strategies that want redundant double-strike enablers.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Battershield Warrior is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but sees essentially zero play in any non-rotating 60-card format — four mana for a 3/3 with a conditional activated ability cannot compete in those card pools. Commander is the only realistic home, and even there Battershield Warrior is fringe: it fits best in combat-centric decks that want to stack double strike on a pumped creature or commander, and the body at least contributes to a board. If your deck is already running Fireshrieker and every other double-strike enabler and still wants more, this fills the slot.

Price Context
Current price
$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Battershield Warrior is deep bulk — the price reflects demand accurately. It won't rise without a sudden spike in popularity that nothing on the horizon suggests is coming.
