Batterhorn enters the battlefield and smashes an artifact — a clean, attached effect on a 4/2 body for five mana. The rate is uncompetitive in most contexts, but if you need a redundant artifact answer on a creature, Batterhorn does exactly one thing and does it reliably.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Batterhorn is a fringe include in decks that specifically want artifact removal stapled to a creature — usually for flicker or reanimator synergy that can retrigger the enter-the-battlefield effect. Competitive and mid-power tables will find better options at lower mana values, but a Conjurer's Closet loop or Yarok shell can squeeze real value out of repeated triggers. In Pauper, common-legal artifact hate is a real axis, and Batterhorn sees occasional sideboard consideration in creature-heavy decks that want to attack and answer Affinity permanents simultaneously. Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, and Vintage all have access to far more efficient artifact removal, so Batterhorn doesn't register in those formats outside of highly specific brewer contexts.

$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Batterhorn is deep bulk — you'll find copies in any common bin without a second thought. There's no financial upside here; it's a card you grab for free when building a themed deck, not one you track.
