Baru, Fist of Krosa

Commander is the natural home for Baru, Fist of Krosa — six mana is acceptable in a 100-card singleton format where landfall and token synergies are endemic and the long game is the norm. In Legacy and Vintage, the six-mana cost is simply too slow for formats where threats are deployed at one or two mana and the game is often decided before turn four. Modern has the same problem; even green's most explosive ramp shells have better top-end options that close faster. Oathbreaker is the one competitive-adjacent format where Baru could see niche play in a Forest-heavy green shell, though the 20-life clock makes the token gameplan less forgiving.
