Baki's Curse deals 2 damage to each creature with an aura attached — a board wipe that scales with enchantment density and punishes every aura player at the table simultaneously. At two mana, the rate is absurd; the narrow condition is the only reason it isn't in every blue deck.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Baki's Curse earns a serious look, and even there it occupies a narrow role: reactive hate against aura-heavy or Voltron builds. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but has never found a home — two mana for conditional creature damage doesn't compete when Pyroclasm and Toxic Deluge exist. The card's entire value proposition is a multiplayer table where at least one opponent is stacking auras, and Commander is the only format that reliably delivers that scenario.

Price Context
Current price
$0.50 bulk tier
At $0.50, Baki's Curse is deep bulk — cheap enough to sleeve on a whim, but the price reflects how rarely it earns a slot. It holds that floor steadily because casual interest in niche hate pieces keeps a slow, consistent demand.
