Bad Deal card art
Bad Deal hits every opponent for two cards discarded and two life lost — six cards stripped and six life drained across a table for six mana. That rate is mediocre in one-on-one formats and legitimately good in Commander, and Aclazotz, Deepest Betrayal turns each of those forced discards into a free 1/1 bat token.

Aclazotz, Deepest Betrayal rewards every discard an opponent is forced to make, so Bad Deal effectively reads 'create up to six 1/1 tokens, drain six life, draw no cards' — a full board-impacting spell that fits squarely in the engine.

Bad Deal is a Commander card through and through — the 'each opponent' clause does nothing in Legacy, Modern, or Pioneer where you're facing a single player, making six mana for two discards and two life loss laughably inefficient. In those one-on-one formats, Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek do more for a fraction of the cost. Commander is the only place where Bad Deal earns its slot, multiplying its effect across three opponents and functioning as both a discard engine trigger and a meaningful life drain in the late game.

Pricing data isn't available for Bad Deal at the moment, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for current market rates. Given its niche appeal as a multiplayer-only six-drop, it's unlikely to command a premium outside of Aclazotz-specific demand.
