Azra Bladeseeker puts a 3/2 with menace on the board for two mana and forces each player to discard down to three cards at the start of combat on your turn — a punishing effect on opponents who hoard hands while fueling graveyard and discard synergies for you. The trade-off is symmetry: if your hand is already lean, you're discarding into nothing, so it belongs in decks built to exploit the trigger, not as a generic beater.

In Commander, Azra Bladeseeker slots into Rakdos discard and reanimator shells where the forced discard affects three opponents every combat, multiplying the effect well beyond what a 1v1 context offers. Pauper is where it sees the most competitive consideration, fitting aggro or discard-synergy lists at common rarity where two-mana 3/2 menace is a legitimate rate. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in it — the discard trigger is too slow and too fair for those formats. Oathbreaker gives it another Commander-adjacent home, again contingent on building around the discard rather than treating it as incidental.

At $0.03, Azra Bladeseeker is deep bulk — the floor of Magic card pricing. It holds no financial value to speak of, but for a deck that wants it, the acquisition cost is essentially zero.
