Avatar of Will is a 5/6 flying beater that costs two blue mana if any opponent has seven or more cards in their graveyard — a condition that arrives early and stays met in any multiplayer game. When the cost reduction fires, it's one of the most efficient blue threats in Commander.

Commander is where Avatar of Will actually lives — three opponents fill graveyards fast through fetchlands, self-mill, and the natural churn of a long game, so the two-mana mode is reliable by turn four or five. Legacy and Vintage are legal formats, but Avatar of Will competes against Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Griselbrand for reanimator slots and loses that contest badly. Outside of Commander, the graveyard threshold is harder to hit consistently across one opponent, and the card sees essentially no competitive play in those formats.
