Atrocious Experiment mills each player for half their library and draws you a card — all at instant speed for three mana. The randomness keeps it out of competitive lists, but in any deck that wants to fill graveyards fast, the upside is enormous.

Commander is the natural home for Atrocious Experiment — milling half a library at a table of four means potentially milling three opponents simultaneously, which no other three-mana spell comes close to matching. In Pauper, it's a legal option in dimir mill but faces stiff competition from more deterministic payoffs at common. Legacy and Vintage have access to far more efficient mill and combo tools, so Atrocious Experiment doesn't crack those formats outside of casual play. Its absence from Standard, Modern, and Pioneer is irrelevant — the card was built for the multiplayer context where its symmetrical chaos becomes asymmetric advantage.

$0.26 bulk tier
At $0.26, Atrocious Experiment is deep bulk — easy to pick up as a throw-in or in any common/uncommon lot. Bulk rares with niche-but-real Commander homes tend to stay in this range, so don't expect movement.
