Assure // Assemble card art
Assure // Assemble does two unrelated things at a reasonable rate: a two-mana indestructible trick that protects a key creature through a wipe, and a five-mana token generator that drops three 1/1 Insect tokens onto the board. Neither half is spectacular on its own, but the flexibility of having both on one card makes Assure // Assemble a quietly efficient slot in token or go-wide shells.

In Commander, Assure // Assemble earns its slot in Selesnya token decks that want cheap interaction and token production on the same card — the indestructible mode saves a commander or combo piece from a boardwipe, while the back half feeds sacrifice engines or anthem effects. In Modern and Pioneer, neither half is efficient enough to see serious play; dedicated protection spells and dedicated token generators both outclass the individual halves at the same mana cost. Legacy and Vintage don't have room for it. Assure // Assemble is fundamentally a Commander card: the format's slower clock and higher premium on flexibility are exactly where split cards like this earn their keep.
