Armament Dragon enters and straps every Equipment in your hand onto your creatures for free — that's potentially five or six mana of equip costs wiped out in a single trigger. At six mana for a 5/4 flier, the body is passable, but you run Armament Dragon because the ETB can shift a board state immediately.

Commander is where Armament Dragon actually belongs — Equipment-focused decks like Voltron or go-wide artifact builds can load up multiple creatures in a single trigger, generating value that scales with hand size. In competitive 60-card formats like Modern or Pioneer, six mana is too slow and the effect too conditional; you're almost never holding enough Equipment in hand for the trigger to matter. Legacy and Vintage ignore it entirely. Standard is the only 60-card context where it could see casual play, but even there the mana cost keeps Armament Dragon firmly in the role of a janky finisher rather than a format piece.

$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Armament Dragon is pure bulk — zero barrier to picking up a copy or two for an Equipment Commander deck. Bulk rares with narrow, build-around triggers rarely climb in price, so don't expect this to move unless a future Equipment commander gives it a breakout moment.
