Arm with Aether gives your entire team sorcery-speed pseudo-evasion for one turn — every creature you control phases out when it deals combat damage, dodging blockers and removal alike on the swing back. Three mana at sorcery speed for a one-shot effect is the ceiling on what this can justify, and in most decks it doesn't clear that bar.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Arm with Aether is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but competitive demand in non-rotating formats is essentially zero — Legacy and Vintage have no interest in a sorcery-speed pump that doesn't affect the board state permanently. Commander is the only realistic home, and even there Arm with Aether competes against go-wide finishers that either close the game outright or generate lasting value; a phasing trick that resets at your next untap step is difficult to justify a slot for.

Price Context
Current price
$0.16 bulk tier
At $0.16, Arm with Aether is deep bulk — the kind of price that reflects genuine low demand, not an overlooked gem. Pick it up if a specific phasing synergy deck calls for it, but don't expect the price to move.
