Arena of the Ancients taps all legendary creatures on entry and prevents them from untapping — a global lockdown that hits every commander on the board, including yours. Unlike Leyline of Singularity, which just punishes multiples, Arena of the Ancients actively neutralizes the most powerful creatures in the game the moment it resolves.

Arena of the Ancients is a Commander card through and through — the legendary supertype is central to the format in a way it simply isn't elsewhere, and the lockdown effect scales directly with how many commanders are at the table. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but effectively unplayed; the legendary density outside Commander rarely justifies a three-mana artifact with no immediate board impact in those formats. Oathbreaker gives it a narrower version of the same appeal as Commander, since both planeswalkers as commanders are legendary and get tapped on entry.
