Archway Angel gains you life equal to the number of Gates you control — potentially 10+ life on entry — stapled to a 3/4 flying body for six mana. The payoff is real, but it does nothing if you're not already running a Gate-heavy mana base.

In Commander, Archway Angel is a niche role-player in dedicated Gate decks — think Maze's End strategies where you're already running eight or more Gates and need life cushion to survive long enough to win. Outside that shell, a six-mana 3/4 flyer with a conditional lifegain trigger doesn't clear the bar in any other Commander context. In non-rotating formats like Modern and Legacy, Archway Angel sees no meaningful play — the Gate synergy isn't competitive enough to justify the cost against faster threats. Pioneer and Standard give it the most charitable home, where Gate synergy decks can exploit the lifegain as a stabilizing mid-game tool, though it remains firmly a build-around card even there.

$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Archway Angel is deep bulk — easy to pick up as a playset for under a dollar. Price stability is high simply because there's no competitive demand to drive it up, so what you see now is what you'll pay indefinitely.
