Arcane Proxy
Artifact Creature — Wizard
Prototype — 2/1 (You may cast this spell with different mana cost, color, and size. It keeps its abilities and types.)
When this creature enters, if you cast it, exile target instant or sorcery card with mana value less than or equal to this creature's power from your graveyard. Copy that card. You may cast the copy without paying its mana cost.

Arcane Proxy enters the battlefield and immediately flashes back any instant or sorcery with mana value 3 or less from your graveyard for free — that's a spell and a body stapled together. The catch is the prototypic cost: full price gets you a 3/3, but you almost always cast it for the cheaper blue pip to get the 1/1, because the reanimation effect is the entire point.

In Commander, Arcane Proxy slots cleanly into artifact synergy and spellslinger builds — the free recursion on ETB pairs well with flicker engines and blink effects, and being an artifact opens it to Tinker-style tutors. In competitive non-rotating formats like Legacy and Vintage, it competes against a much denser field of graveyard payoffs and rarely makes the cut over cheaper, more reliable options. Modern is legal but Arcane Proxy hasn't broken through there either; the prototypic mechanic is niche enough that dedicated graveyard strategies prefer cards with lower floor costs. Pioneer is theoretically on the table, but no meaningful shell has emerged for it.

Price Context
Current price
$0.47 bulk tier
At $0.47, Arcane Proxy is bulk — easy to pick up as a casual include without any budget consideration. The price reflects limited competitive demand; it's unlikely to spike unless a dedicated Commander archetype builds around it at scale.
