Apocalypse Demon enters as the biggest flying body your graveyard can buy — potentially 10/10 or larger for six mana — but it untaps tapped and loses power equal to your graveyard count each upkeep, so a full bin that made it enormous will quickly drain it to nothing. Run it when you can reset your graveyard on demand; otherwise the clock works against you faster than your opponents do.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Apocalypse Demon is a Commander card almost exclusively — six mana with a significant power-drain drawback is far too slow and unreliable for Legacy, Modern, or Pioneer, where the game is often decided before it would even hit the table. In those formats the ceiling of a large flier doesn't compensate for the self-defeating upkeep clause. Commander is where it finds a home, specifically in graveyard-matters decks that can either recur it after it shrinks to zero or periodically exile the graveyard to reset the counter. Outside of Commander, treat every other legal format as theoretical — Apocalypse Demon has no realistic place there.

Price Context
Current price
$0.27 bulk tier
At $0.27, Apocalypse Demon is deep bulk, and that price reflects the narrow conditions under which it performs well. It holds its floor because the ceiling — a massive flying threat for six mana — is genuinely exciting in the right shell, but don't expect movement unless a new graveyard-reset commander pushes demand.
