Ancient Spring enters tapped and produces one mana of any of three colors exactly once — then it's a land that does nothing. For any deck that needs blue, green, or white fixing, there are strictly better options available at the same price.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Ancient Spring is outclassed by every Triome, Pathway, and even Vivid land that sees real play — the enter-tapped penalty is acceptable, but a land that can only produce colored mana a single time is not. Legacy and Vintage have access to it but will never want it; the format's fixing options are so far ahead that Ancient Spring is invisible. Pauper is the one context where the color fixing options are genuinely constrained, and a three-color deck with no better commons might include it as a desperation slot.

$0.21 bulk tier
At $0.21, Ancient Spring is bulk by any measure. It won't drop meaningfully lower, but there's no pressure to acquire it — copies sit in nearly every bulk bin at every game store.
