Ampryn Tactician enters the battlefield and gives your entire team +1/+1 until end of turn — a board-wide pump stapled to a 3/3 body for four mana. Solid in token-go-wide decks, forgettable everywhere else.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Ampryn Tactician earns a slot in token strategies that need surprise combat math — the enters-the-battlefield trigger plays well with blink and flicker effects, and the pump applies to the whole team, not just creatures you control when you cast it. In Pauper, a 3/3 for four with an incidental buff is on the fair side of playable, and white weenie or convoke shells occasionally want this effect on a body. Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, and Vintage have no interest — the rate is simply too low for those formats' threats and interaction density. Oathbreaker mirrors Commander closely enough that the same token-swarm reasoning applies.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Ampryn Tactician is deep bulk — the kind of card that ends up in a trade binder's bottom pocket. That price is stable by definition; there's no demand catalyst that would move a four-mana combat trick.
