Alpine Houndmaster
Creature — Human Warrior
When this creature enters, you may search your library for a card named Alpine Watchdog and/or a card named Igneous Cur, reveal them, put them into your hand, then shuffle.
Whenever this creature attacks, it gets +X/+0 until end of turn, where X is the number of other attacking creatures.

Alpine Houndmaster enters and immediately fetches an Alpine Watchdog or Igneous Cur from your deck, turning a two-mana creature into a two-card play before it ever attacks. The rate is real for Dog tribal, but outside that archetype it's a vanilla 2/2 with a tutor stapled to a condition you won't meet.
Format Analysis

Alpine Houndmaster is a Commander card first and almost exclusively — Dog tribal has enough pieces to build around it, and casual pods forgive the narrow tutor target pool. In Modern and Pioneer it never found a home: two mana for a 2/2 with a conditional ETB doesn't clear the bar when the format demands immediate board impact or disruption. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters for the same reason at exponentially higher competition. Stick it in a Dog-matters Commander shell and it earns its slot; everywhere else, it doesn't.

Price Context
Current price
$0.21 bulk tier
At $0.21, Alpine Houndmaster is deep bulk — you're picking it out of a commons box, not a singles order. Bulk rares with narrow tribal applications don't recover value unless a new Dog commander pushes the archetype into competitive relevance, which isn't on the horizon.
