Akoum Hellhound card art
Akoum Hellhound is a one-mana beater that scales with landfall triggers — every land drop after the first grows it into a real threat, and in the right shell it's swinging for four or five by turn three. Titania, Nature's Force is the canonical home: bouncing lands back to hand means you're triggering landfall repeatedly and the Hellhound punishes every one of those drops.

Akoum Hellhound is a fringe card outside of dedicated landfall strategies — in most Commander decks it's a vanilla 1/2 with upside that fades once the game slows down. In landfall-focused Commander builds, the low mana cost earns it a slot as an early threat that pressures opponents while you assemble your engine. Pauper is where it has the most competitive footing, since the landfall aggro archetype is real and every cheap threat counts. In Modern and Pioneer, the card simply can't keep up with the power density of the format — there are better one-drops and better landfall payoffs available at every point on the curve.

Pricing data for Akoum Hellhound isn't currently available, but as a common from a widely opened set it has historically sat well under a dollar. It's worth picking up as a bulk inclusion for landfall Commander builds — the financial commitment is negligible.
