Agent of Erebos hits the table as a repeatable graveyard exile engine stapled to a 2/2 enchantment creature — every time you gain a life, an opponent's graveyard disappears. The four-mana cost is fair for that effect, but the payoff scales hard with dedicated enchantment commanders, and Daxos the Returned in particular turns every experience counter into a threat and a yard-clear simultaneously.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Daxos the Returned
Daxos the Returned triggers Agent of Erebos on every enchantment cast, which means each spirit token you make also strips a graveyard — the two cards form a self-reinforcing loop that shuts down recursion-based opponents while the token army scales up.

Lynde, Cheerful Tormentor
Lynde, Cheerful Tormentor passes curses around the table and generates incidental life gain from several of them, which feeds Agent of Erebos consistently enough that at least one opponent's graveyard is getting hammered every turn cycle.

Ghen, Arcanum Weaver
Ghen, Arcanum Weaver sacrifices and recurs enchantments as a core mechanic, and Agent of Erebos functions as both a recurring threat and a source of graveyard hate that resets whenever Ghen brings it back.

Commander is where Agent of Erebos does its real work — three opponents mean three graveyards to exile, and enchantment-heavy decks trigger it constantly without any extra investment. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's legal but purely outclassed: dedicated graveyard hate like Rest in Peace and Tormod's Crypt costs less mana and doesn't require a life gain subtheme to function. Vintage has the same problem at a higher power ceiling. Agent of Erebos is a Commander card through and through, and it's best in enchantment shells where the trigger fires several times a turn.

Price Context
Current price
$0.35 bulk tier
At $0.35, Agent of Erebos sits comfortably in bulk territory — easy to slot into any enchantment build without budget consideration. Bulk enchantment creatures at this price point rarely spike unless they find a breakout commander, so expect the price to stay flat.
