Aetherborn Marauder enters the battlefield and immediately redistributes +1/+1 counters from your other permanents, letting you load it with flying, lifelink, deathtouch, and haste all at once. The catch is that it requires creatures already carrying counters — in a vacuum, it's a 2/2 for four mana that does nothing.

Aetherborn Marauder is a Commander card through and through — the counters-matter theme it depends on has enough support in 100-card singleton to make the ability genuinely threatening, particularly in black-based aristocrats or energy-adjacent builds. In Modern and Legacy, a four-mana 2/2 with a conditional enter-the-battlefield ability simply doesn't compete; counters synergies in those formats move faster and on cheaper bodies. Pioneer offers slightly more room for janky synergies, but Aetherborn Marauder still can't clear the bar for a four-drop in a 60-card deck. Stick to Commander, where the extra card slots and slower pace let it actually find the counters it needs.

$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Aetherborn Marauder is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard and shipping, not the card. It holds no financial value and never will; pick it up in a bulk bin and don't think twice about it.
