Aether Herder is a four-mana 3/3 that produces a Servo token and gains you two life when it enters — a modest body with modest upside, nothing more. It's filler, and outside of extremely narrow Aetherborn or energy-adjacent themes, there's almost always a better four-drop.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Aether Herder is legal across Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but legal doesn't mean playable. In Commander, it shows up only in dedicated artifact-token or Servo-synergy builds — think Breya, Etherium Shaper shells that want bodies to sacrifice — and even there it's competing against far more efficient token producers. In Pauper, where commons get more credit, the rate still doesn't hold up; a four-mana 3/3 with a one-time 1/1 and two life is too low-impact in a format where every slot has to work. Everywhere else, Aether Herder is essentially invisible.

Price Context
Current price
$0.13 bulk tier
At $0.13, Aether Herder sits firmly in bulk territory, and that price reflects the demand accurately. It won't trend up — there's no competitive home driving interest, and supply is plentiful.
