Adverse Conditions card art
Adverse Conditions taps two creatures and leaves a 1/1 Eldrazi Scion behind — three bodies touched for three mana at instant speed. It's a solid tempo play in Eldrazi token strategies, but too narrow for general use.

Format Analysis

Where it lives, where it can’t

FormatVerdict
commander
legacy
modern
pioneer
standard
vintage
pauper
oathbreaker

Adverse Conditions sees essentially zero competitive play in Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, or Vintage — the formats where tempo spells live, this one doesn't pull enough weight at three mana. Commander is where it has any real home, and even there it's a role-player in dedicated Eldrazi token shells rather than a staple. The Scion it generates can crack for mana, which gives the card a minor ramp dimension on top of the tapping effect, but most blue decks have better instant-speed interaction available.

Price Context

Current price

$0.10 bulk tier

At $0.10, Adverse Conditions is deep bulk — you're not paying for it, you're just finding it in a draft chaff pile. Demand is too narrow to push the price anywhere meaningful, so it stays bulk indefinitely.
